Goondas Act applied to ganja dealer in Cuddalore

The Goondas Act was invoked against a drug peddler who was arrested with 1.38 kg of ganja in April this year.

According to the police, the arrested person has been identified as D. Sasikumar (25) of Naduveerapattu in Cuddalore district. Police arrested him with the contraband on Salakarai Road in Naduveerapattu on April 3.

Sasikumar had seven cases in various police stations in Cuddalore and Kallakurichi districts. Sibi District Collector Adhithya Senthil Kumar, acting on the recommendation of Cuddalore District Superintendent of Police S. Jeyakumar, invoked the provisions of the Goondas Act against him. The orders were executed in Cuddalore Central Jail.
