In a blog post, the Mountain View-based tech giant announced that the Gemini 2.0 Flash AI model is now on the way to the Gemini app. Earlier it was only available in the web version. While Gemini premium subscribers will have access to the next generation of models, free users will also be able to access the model. The tech giant says Gemini 2.0 Flash supports multi-mode output, such as image generation with text and detectable text-to-speech (TTS) multilingual audio. In addition, the AI model is also equipped with proxy function. 2.0 flashing local calling tools such as Google search, code execution-related tools, and third-party features, once the user defines them through the API.
Regarding performance, Google shares benchmark scores for AI models based on internal testing. It is said to outperform the Gemini 1.5 Pro in the massive multitasking language understanding (MMLU), natural 2 code, math, and graduate-level Google-Profforn-Profforn-Profform-Prove Q&A (GPQA) benchmarks.
It is worth noting that image generation in Gemini now supports the latest version of Imagen 3 AI model. Gemini 1.5 Flash (for free users) and 1.5 Pro (for advanced users) will also be available in the next few weeks. Google has added this extension to give users enough time to complete existing conversations and move to new AI models.
