The company announced Wednesday that it now provides Google Workspace users with Gemini apps for Android and iOS. This way, Workspace users can access the Gemini mobile application as a core service and use it for organizational tasks. Previously, these users could only access Gemini features on the web and in certain applications such as Google Docs or Gmail. The mountain view-based technology giant stressed that the move will allow enterprise users to use AI chatbots on the go.
Gemini mobile app is now available for Google Workspace users
The company said in a blog post that the Gemini app for Android and iOS will now allow Workspace users to log in to the app using their organizational accounts and access all enterprise-level features that are not available on the regular version of the app. In addition to using an AI chatbot to research and find answers to their queries, users can also use the device’s camera to capture images of handwritten notes and export them to Google Docs or Gmail.
Additionally, Google Workspace users can create visualizations of charts drawn on the whiteboard when logged into the Gemini mobile app. The tech giant said users will continue to get all enterprise-level data protection on the network.
The GEMINI application for workspace accounts will be available in 150 countries and will be supported in 46 languages. However, currently the application will not support certain features available to enterprise users on the network. For example, users will not be able to use workspace extensions, file uploads, and gemstones.
Additionally, Android’s Gemini app does not support working profiles. On the other hand, users will not be able to verify their workspace account on iOS’s Google app, which also includes Gemini. To access AI features for enterprise purposes, users will need to install a standalone Gemini application.
Google also extends access to the GEMINI app for all educational users. Those with qualified versions will get a chatbot as the core service, while others can use it as an additional service.
