Google reportedly plans to add new artificial intelligence (AI) features to its searches. According to the report, Mountain View, California-based tech giant is working using the AI model on Google Search, which will allow users to access the conversation interface for search queries. However, this feature is said to be different from the AI Overview feature, which shows a short summary of the search topic. According to reports, the AI mode will also display relevant web pages and provide options to inquire about subsequent queries.
Google searches may report to get AI mode
The information reports that the AI model will soon be available on Google Search. The publication quoted an unnamed person, claiming that the AI-mode interface is the same as the web version of Gemini Chatbot. It is believed that the company may use this move to bring its Gemini chatbot to a larger audience.
According to the report, Google is working to catch up with OpenAI from active users of Chatgpt. According to statistics from the app business, Gemini estimated 42 million active users in October, while OpenAI CEO Sam Altman claimed earlier this month that its chatbot hit a milestone of 300 million weekly active users.
Due to this difference, Google reportedly plans to introduce Gemini to its billions of users through its search products. The AI mode in Google search is said to be located below the text field to the left of the All, Images and Videos tabs.
It is reported that once users tap on AI mode in AI mode, they will be brought to a new interface similar to Gemini’s web client. There, after the user typed a search query, they reportedly see context information about it, relevant URLs, relevant web pages, and options to ask subsequent questions. It is said that the technology giant believes that this will also improve the performance of search engines.
In addition, there are rumors that the AI mode will support text prompts and voice-based prompts to provide users with a hands-free experience. At present, it is not clear when Google will introduce new AI features on Google Search.
