Google Pay user has claimed to have been converted £40,000 by mistake on the account and soon asked for a refund. Post Redditor documenting this incident has triggered discussions online, saying that money was credited to his wife’s account.
The headline for Reddit’s post states: “The amount received on the account via GPAY.” The post lit the online debates about the authenticity of the GPAY user.
He stressed that he refused to comply with the application, and the user Reddit named Chetan Shah said, “YDay in the afternoon some person sent a 40k (accidentally) to my wife’s account via Gpay. Later he calls at night and asks for the mission. I refused.”
He also noted that he asked GPay users to approach the bank to reverse the transaction. He was looking for proposals and advice from social media user online and said, “He told him to approach his bank to transform the transaction. I did the right thing? I also announced my bank that some person sent this amount to the account.”
In the comment thread, we will learn that the GPay user has asked the bank to block this amount. Chetan Shah added, “I asked for my bank to block the amount. And I suspect that the sender also gave a block for the same amount. It’s a dead account and there is only 1k in this account … The sender can request unblocking.”
Social media reaction: “UPI becomes shady”
The user wrote: “Yes. This is the only way. You will probably get a bank’s request for approval or happen automatically because you have already informed your bank. Do not touch this money and be fine.”
Another comment read: “You checked the bank transaction? Sometimes they left for a false message number.”
The third user replied, “Yes, you did the right thing, if you sent the money back, then it gets backward feedback from his bank and freezes to her account until the money is re -paid.”
The fourth user replied, “Never send the money back, it is best to give reverse feedback.”
The fifth user said: “UPI is now becoming very shady and everyone uses gaps.”
The sixth user told how fraud happens: “Ordinary fraud is, sends money B. and asks B to send money back to another account. B sends money back to the account.
The seventh user said, “transfer all the money except 40k … Another fraud is that I complain that I am scammed and the bank will block your account …. Then the guy asks you for money to unlock AC and slide the complaint.”
