Google is reportedly creating new artificial intelligence (AI) features for its internal chatbot Gemini. According to the report, the feature was found in the latest beta version of the Google App for Android, called a content filter. As the name suggests, the feature is believed to allow users to have detailed control over unwanted or harmful content generated by AI Chatbot. However, since the feature is said to be not public or active, it is not clear how it works.
Gemini may get content filter functionality
According to a report from Android Authority, the Mountain View-based tech giant is developing a content review tool for Gemini. Evidence for this feature was discovered by a publication of Android Beta version 15.51.24.sa.arm64 in the Google App. It is worth noting that the feature is not faced by the public, so Beta testers are temporarily unable to test it.
The publication also shares screenshots of the feature. According to the screenshot, the new feature can be found in Gemini Settings Page between options Screen context and Manage your premium subscriptions. New features are marked as Content Filter.
Under the name of the feature, the screenshot also shows a short description that says: “Use filters to control the response you see.” This function does not activate the function on the server side, so it does not understand the function. The attack on the Gemini feature is reportedly redirecting users to a URL on Google’s Gemini website. However, the website is currently inactive and the publication cannot find any information.
However, based on this information, the feature may be a tool for users to further control the responses they want to see. It can provide filters just like the way parents controls can be obtained on devices and websites, which allows users to see only safe content.
Additionally, the feature may be extended and allows users to access blacklisted websites, ban the entire topic, and respond to the set validator. A less likely possibility is also, this setting allows the user to customize Gemini responses by writing styles and tones for all future conversations. But these are just speculations, and nothing can be said until Google announces the feature.
