Eight people died and approximately 25 people were injured when the goods turned to the crowd participating in the parade of Ganesha in Mosala Hoshalli to Hassan-Holenarasipur Road late on Friday (September 12, 2025) in the evening.
The police moved the injured hospital in Hassan ambulances. Eight was declared the dead. Of the injured, there are 18 treated at the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences and seven people in private hospitals, according to the road from Krishna’s Gowdy Krishna, Minister of Income, who is also in charge of the Hassan district at 23:30
Tolls are expected to increase because several people were seriously injured in the incident. There were most young people among the dead and the injured. Among the killed was a student of the Government Engineering University in Mosala Hosalali.
The vehicle lost control
Many people from Mosale Hosale Hosale and neighboring villages danced to popular melodies that were played as part of the procession when the vehicle suddenly turned into the crowd. The crowd did not expect the vehicle to get in the way.
The movement of vehicles was limited to one lane and the procession was on the other. The goods of the vehicle, as can be seen in the video clip, suddenly turned and plowed into the crowd.
It is said that the vehicle of the goods first hit the two -wheel bike and later the driver lost control. The police took Bhunesh, the driver, to custody.
Local people called the ambulance and moved injured people to Hassan hospitals. Once the reports of the accident spread, many people from the neighboring villages threw themselves into the place. Members of the family and relatives of the deceased were unbearable.
CM announces compensation
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced compensation of 5 ₹ Lakh to the families of those who died in the accident and said the government would bear the cost of handling the injured.
Mr. Siddaramaiah published on X and said he was painful to learn about the incident, and wished to injure a speedy recovery.
Holenarasipur Mil and former Minister of HD Revanna, his son and MLC, Suraj Revanna, reached the place.
In Hassan, Swaroop Prakash, Mla, Shreyas patel, a deputy, visited the hospital and asked about the wounded state.
The Minister of the Union for heavy industry HD Kumaraswamy expressed a shock in the accident.
In the X, formerly Twitter, Mr. Kumaraswamy said that the death of people in the incident was deeply shocked by him.
“It is an unfortunate incident. May God give the peace of the departing souls and give the mourning family strength to carry loss,” he said. He also urged the state government to ensure that the injured treatment.
