
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Calcutta on Friday 22nd August to start and lay the basis of projects worth £5,200 crore, including three new sections of the metro and an increased corridor in Howrah, said officials.
With additions, Kolkata Metro, for the first time on their 41 -year journey directly connects the airport with the rest of the city.
PM Modi will also go from the subway from the Jessore Road Metro to Jai Hind Bimanbandar Station (Airport Station) and back, PTI reported, referring to Kolkata Metro, a spokesman for Kolkata Metro.
