Metro Kolkata is ready to increase train services on the Green Line-1, Green Line-2 and Purple from August 11, aimed at satisfying commuting demand, PTI quoted an official statement.
The statement added that 108 trains-54 to 54 DN-will be operated on the green line-1 between Sealdah and Salt Lake Sector V. Currently, 106 trains-53 to 53 DN-BEEs are operated daily from Monday to Saturday on Green Line-1.
Metro Kolkata also added that the service corridor clock will also increase from 6:35 to 22:00 from 6:55 to 22:00. On Sunday, however, no train services will be available in Green Line 1.
In addition, 134 trains-67 and 67 DN-D-V will be operated from 11 August from 11 August to Saturday daily 130 trains-65 and 65 DN-day on Green Line-2.
The service clock in this corridor will increase from 6:30 to 21:53 from 7:00 to 21:53 at present, Metro Kolkata said. Normal train services will be available on Sunday in this corridor
From Monday, 80 trains-40 up, 40 DN-Koridor Joka-Majerhat will be operated on the purple line. Currently, 72 trains are operated from Monday to Friday on Purple Line – 36 to 36 days -. The train services in this corridor will also increase until 6:50 to 21:14 instead of 7.57 to 20:32.
Renovation Thesis:
At the beginning of July 30, the news arrived that Kolkata Metro decided to demolish part of the Kavi Subhash station after cracks appeared on the UP Line columns due to a decrease in the foundation.
Metro Railway spokesman said that the station would be partially dismantled and the services would now work between Shahid Khudiram and Dakshineswar in sections up and down.
Part of the station connecting the new Garii with Dakshineswar will be redesigned, the spokesman said.
