The ability to fly into the ground without a problem asking a visa is a luxury that passengers around the world seek. With visa procedures, which often include extensive documentation, long queues and unpredictable processing times, the main advantage is to have a passport that provides entry without visa. Unfortunately, for Indian travelers, this privilege remains limited – and this year it slipped a little further.
According to the Passport Henley 2025, the Indian passport is now on 81, a slight decline in the 80. Position in 2024. This ranking reflects the number of destinations to which Indian citizens can travel without required a visa in advance. The lower the evaluation, the less the passport is associated with the passport.
Despite the decline, however, Indian passport holders can still visit 58 countries without having to apply for a visa in advance. While many popular destinations, such as the United States, United Kingdom or European Union, still require a visa for Indian nationals, several attractive and smaller explored destinations are open to Indian passengers either without a visa or with a visa on arrival.
These countries extend on continents and offer a wide range of travel experiences – from quiet beaches and safari of wild animals to cultural heritage and tropical retreats. In Africa, countries like Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and Seychelles are among the best options offered by majestic natural reserves and wildlife.
In Oceania, Indian travelers can explore island nations such as Fiji, Vanuatu, Mikronesia, Palaus Islands and Tuval, all known for their stunning beaches and marine biological diversity.
Closer to home, Southeast Asia destinations, including Indonesia, Thailand, Laos and Malaysia, remain accessible without prior visa. In South Asia, the neighboring country as Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives continue to offer easy entry.
Here is a complete list of countries that Indian passport holders can visit without a visa (some offer without visas, others visa on arrival or e-Visa at the entrance):
Although the Indian passport does not have to become among the strongest in the world, it still opens dozens of exciting countries without a visa.
