On that day, the Eagles Congress descended to Royal Portrush at 153. Open. Eight of the best dozen players landed at least one eagle at the time of writing – the defending Xander Schauffele champion had two.But in the middle of all this, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler remained in front of the field. He also tried to end a long four-year abyss, during which he performed only two main starts of missed cuts when opening 2021 and 2022 will open. The only man who was missing in this event seemed to be the champion of 2023, Brian Harman, who dropped shots on the first, third and eighth, and he had only one birdie to compensate for them. Fell on 5-under and outside the TOP-10.Scheffler and Fitzpatrick were not the only landing eagle. Tyrrell Hatton came seventh from 139 yards on the road, while Schauffe tried to become the first man since IR Padraig Harrington (2008-2009) successfully defended Claret, two, both with a Putty monster and 44 feet.
