
The robbers decorated 15 monarchs of gold jewelry, silver objects and cash from the temple in the village of Kilpakkam near Arakkonam in Ranipet on Thursday.
The police said it was around 6 am when a group of inhabitants and priests came to the local Amman temple and found that the castle had broken. At the entrance to Sanctum Sanctorum, they found that gold jewelry was missing from the deity. In addition, silver articles were also not found.
When the inhabitants walked around the temple, they found that the Hundi castle also broke. No money or coins were found in the damaged Hundi. The police said the annual Temple festival was carried out a few days ago, attended by hundreds of devotees from neighboring villages.
Based on the complaint filed by the temple authorities, the case of the Municipal Police Arakkonam was registered. Special teams were created to charge the culprits. The police also check the CCTV shots in the area. The probe is running.
