The idol of Goddess Padmavati Ammavaru was carried on ‘Surya Prabha Vahanam’ and ‘Chandra Prabha Vahanam’ on Sunday, the seventh day of the ongoing nine-day ‘Karthika Brahmotsavams’ in Tiruchanur.
Seated on a celestial boat resembling the sun, the Goddess emerged from the Vahana Mandapam to bless the devotees in the morning. The procession of the goddess, led by elephants, horses, bulls and bhajan troupes, marched rapidly through the roads.
In the evening, the idol was carried on ‘Chandra Prabha Vahanam’, representing the moon. The goddess was seated on a silvered halo that showed the rays of the moon.
