Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) announced a number of initiatives aimed at improving urban health, environmental standards and civil infrastructure.
A total ban on plastic with one use will enter into force in the city of August 1. Commissioner GMC Puli Srinivasul on Monday said that in the last three months, gatherings, public meetings and units to raise awareness of the preparation of population and enterprises for the transition had been carried out.
Special working groups advocate a ban through inspections and deposit severe sanctions. The civic chief urged citizens to move to substances or jute bags. Meeting with hotel owners, restaurants and Curry Point, followed by plastics manufacturers and the Chamber of Commerce, are scheduled for 29 July to ensure cooperation.

In further development, Mr. Srinivasulu ordered engineering teams to accelerate the construction of the garbage station on Yard Ethuor Road Compost. The collection of household waste and commercial units will also start 1 August.
