
Global education today is not about a stamp in the passport but rather about a change in mindset, The Apollo University Vice-Chancellor Vinod Bhat said at the Apollo-Leicester Education Summit 2026 held here on Sunday.
Organized in partnership with the University of Leicester in the UK, the one-day summit focused on “Global Careers in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” and attracted students, parents, educators and industry leaders to discuss future career readiness.
Designed for high school students preparing for higher education and careers in 2030 and beyond, the summit discussed growing concerns about artificial intelligence, employability and global career uncertainty. Speakers emphasized the need for education systems to evolve by integrating employability, adaptability and resilience directly into the curriculum.
In her speech, Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, University of Leicester, Henrietta O’Connor highlighted how her institution incorporates work-related learning into every undergraduate degree to ensure students develop practical skills for future opportunities.
The event included a number of sessions on global trends in higher education, the future of engineering, doing business in a technology-driven world, healthcare and research, and different paths in computer science beyond traditional IT careers.
