The Minister of Departments for Rajiv Ranjan Singh said on Saturday that the center began steps to ensure a global ecological brand for the Lakshadweep tuna fishing using traditional fishing methods.
The government will take steps to obtain worldwide recognized certification of ecological labeling for tuna fishing in Lakshadweep of Tuna in Lakshadweep, who has a low environmental impact and positive social advantages, said a special focus on Tuna and fisheries.
The Minister said that the aim of this step is to support the sustainability of these traditional fishing methods and to provide access to the market approach and premium prices of environmental certified tuna. The Minister of Trade Unions, referring to the Government Plan for Hluboký Sea Fishing, said that legal instruments to enable sustainable fishing in an exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and on the High Sea after consultation with coastal states and UT. The Lakshadweep and Praful Patel’s Patel stressed that a 4,000 -square lagoon in Lakshadweep has a huge potential for seaweed growing and offers a new way to improve the livelihood of islanders.
