
A 14 -year -old girl, an anakend who suffered from acute liver failure, got a second chance to live, thanks to early liver transplantation carried out in Kimshealth and her mother’s bold decision to be her donor, the statement issued by the hospital.
A patient adopted in an acute condition in the hospital was immediately admitted to the intensive liver care unit and started with advanced treatment of liver support. However, its condition soon deteriorated and had to be located to support the fan.
As an immediate liver transplant, she was designed as the only viable way to save her life, her mother came as a donor. Since the family had significant financial challenges, the transplantation was to rescue life with the help of various sources, including Kimshealth, the Ministry of Social Justice and Crowdfunding.
The Kimshealth transplant team said that transplantation in the case of anakend was particularly demanding due to the acute condition of the patient.
After the operation, the condition of the girl was constantly improving; Its cognitive function returned to normal and its liver function has stabilized significantly. After a three -week stay in the hospital, Anakend was released in good health and is expected to return to school within two months.
