Hamas’s armed wing on Saturday released a video showing Israeli hostage to Elkana Bohbot, who begged for his release. Bohbot, who was kidnapped from the Music Festival in South Israel during Hamas on October 7, 2023, appears in the shots calling on the Israeli government to secure its freedom. A three -minute video, spoken in Hebrew, is the second hostage of shared Hamas in recent days.
The forum of hostages and missing families confirmed the identity of Bohbot and said that he was seen at the beginning of this week in another video along with the captain of Yosef Haim Ovana. AFP said it was not possible to verify the exact date and location of the latest shots.
Hostage concerns about his life
In the newly released video, Bohbot expresses his concerns about the Israeli air strikes in Gaza and the dangers that represent the hostages. He recalls the government for his release and said he wanted to meet his wife and son.
Since Israel continued his offensive on March 18 after a temporary ceasefire, Hamas warned that continuing military actions could endanger the lives of the remaining hostages.
Of the 251 individuals who were admitted during the attack of October 7, 58 are still held in Gaza, while the Israeli army reports that 34 of them are considered dead.
Growing challenges to a ceasefire
The renewed military campaign of Israel in Gaza resulted in a significant victim, and according to the Civil Defense Agency in the region, almost a dozen people were on Saturday. The hostility led to a growing call for a renewed ceasefire agreement.
Bass Naim, head of Hamas official, said the ceasefire negotiations gaining strength. “We hope that the coming days will bring a real breakthrough in the war situation, after intensive communication with the mediators and among them in the last days,” Naim said on Friday in a statement.
Protests in Israel for relaxation hostage
On Saturday evening thousands of Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv and demanded that the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reached an agreement to bring the hostages of houses. Among the demonstrators were former hostages and relatives of those who are still in captivity.
“Soon Israel will celebrate Passover … I wish we could hold the Night Seder with hostages who have to come back to truly celebrate a real festival,” said Yair Horn, a former hostage whose brother Eitan remains in Gaza. “Prime Minister … Let’s get to agreement without a fight.”
The upcoming Jewish Passover festival, known as “Holiday of Freedom”, is traditionally marked by family food where Haggadah reads, symbolizes liberation. Many protesters stressed that the real celebration would only be possible if all hostages were safely returned home.

Israel-Hamas Home: What will be next
The first phase of the ceasefire of Israel Hamas began on January 19 after 15 months of conflict, stopped hostility, ensured the release of some Israeli hostages held by Hamas and the liberation of some Palestinian prisoners.
The aim of the second phase is to negotiate the release of the remaining hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza. Hamas insists that any proposals must start this phase while Israel has proposed an expansion of the initial 42 -day ceasefire.

According to Palestinian officials, the Israeli offensive resulted in more than 50,000 Palestinian deaths. The conflict began after the Hamas management started an attack on South Israel 7 October 2023 and killed 1200 people and kidnapped 251, according to Israel.
