
Recent floods caused damage to energy infrastructure in three districts of the Kalyana Karnataka region, causing a loss of more than 24.03 GBP Crore to Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company (Gescom).
Gescom Managing Director Krishna Bajpai Speaking to the Hinda on Friday Told That According to the preliminary Assessment Report of Kalaburaggi, Yadgir, and Bidar Districts, Around 7,775 Electric Poles Were Damaged, 1,380 Transformers Were submerged and Nearly 144 km of conductor and supplement lines Collapsed Due To the Floods.
Overall damage was estimated at 23.4 GBP Crore, including CRORE 7.07 GBP according to the price of the NDRF and around 16.32 GBP Crore according to the schedule of the rate fees. Electric poles worth 7.46 Crore 7.46 GBP were damaged, the loss of transformers was estimated at 15.27 GBP crore and wires and lines worth 31 ₹ Lakh were reportedly damaged in three districts.
Kalaburagagi
Of the total number of 7,775 electric poles damaged in three districts of jurisdiction Gescom, about 3,733 electric poles were damaged in the Kalaburagi district. Of this 1,716, 2,017 electric poles were to be replaced.
Of the 460 transformers damaged in the districts of Kalaburagi, only 94 were successfully repaired and the remaining 366 transformers needed a replacement. And conductors on the section 26.5 km were repaired against damage 32.32 km; Gescom would replace the conductor for 5.82 km.
In the district, the highest number of electric poles was damaged in a rural subdivision with 809, followed by 802 electric poles in the Sedam division. Damage to the electric poles of taluk-dumped poles: Jeswargi taluk 480 Poles, Aland Taluk 450 fields, 408 in Chincholi Taluk, Sitam Taluk 394 Poles, Kalagi 275 Poles and Afzalpur 249 Poles.
Yadir
Similarly, 42 electric poles were repaired in the YADGIR district, 852 were replaced and 1,490 electric poles were replaced and there was no need to be replaced. Almost 695 transformers were immersed in water and damaged, of which 437 were repaired and 258 transformers need to be replaced.
Taluk-wise damaged electric poles as follows: Yadgir Taluk 898 poles, followed by Shahapur 627 poles, Gurmmmmmal 396 Poles, Shorapur 233 Poles and Hunasagi Taluk 230 fields.
Bidar
Gescom accelerated the repairs and alternative work of energy infrastructure in the Bidar district, which are damaged due to recent floods. Mr. Bajpai said the provision of the Bidar district was damaged by almost 1,618 electric poles, of which 1,427 were replaced and replaced by 191 poles.
Almost 118 transformers were identified for compensation against a total of 225 damaged transformers and 107 transformers were corrected and repaired.
While the wire line for 111.58 km was damaged and was replaced by 94 km, Gescom would install a new conductor for 17.5 km, the officer added.
“Recent floods have caused unprecedented energy network damage; transformers, poles and conductors have been immersed or swept away. Gescom officials and repairers work continuously to restore electricity in critical wiring and affected areas,” Bajpai said.
