
The Great Eastern Medical College and Hospital in Srikakulam has received recognition from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the hospital’s Chief Patron B. Bhaskara Rao said on Thursday. The accreditation allows the hospital to offer a training session for surgeons on “Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient” from May 5-8, which will be held on the hospital’s premises.
Dr. Bhaskara Rao said the joint training program between the Royal College and GEMS will enable surgeons to learn about the latest technologies used in surgery, the impact of artificial intelligence in the field of medicine and the exchange of knowledge between senior doctors of the two countries.
He thanked Aditya Educational Society Vice-Chairman P. Rahu Ram for being instrumental in securing accreditation for the hospital. Dr. Bhaskara said GEMS is the first hospital to achieve such recognition among hospitals in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region.
