Google has expanded Gemini’s proxy capabilities (in-depth study) to more than 150 countries and 45 languages. The feature was unveiled earlier this month with the Gemini 2.0 family’s AI model family. However, its capabilities are currently related to the 1.5 Pro Artificial Intelligence (AI) model. The tech giant says in-depth research can develop multi-step research plans, run web searches and prepare detailed reports on complex topics. Currently, accessing Gemini’s web version through desktop devices can only provide it in-depth research.

It is worth noting that this means that the Gemini 1.5 Pro has a deep research energy and is full of Gemini works. The Mountain View-based tech giant says that only a Google One AI Premium Plan subscription can provide in-depth research capabilities, with access to Gemini Advanced. In India, monthly subscription costs Rs. 1,950. This subscription is only available to people over the age of 18. Additionally, the company added that the availability of the feature may vary by device, country and language.
As explained at startup, deep dive is a proxy function. The user just needs to add a query that requires technical and niche information or complexity and needs to break it down into easier parts. After prompting, the AI agent will formulate a multi-step research plan. Then, according to the plan, it discovers relevant research papers and articles, studies the latest developments in the field, and so on.
Based on its knowledge, agents can also run several new web searches to gain a deeper understanding of the topic. Once the agent has enough information, it generates a detailed report. The user can choose to intervene in any step and then edit the study plan or add subsequent prompts to modify the output.
