GE Aerospace, HAL near final deal to co-produce F414 jet engines

US defense company GE Aerospace on Tuesday (14 April 2026) said it has made significant progress with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) towards finalizing a partnership to co-produce F414 jet engines in India for future fighter jets.

The two sides, who have been in talks for nearly three years since signing an agreement to co-produce F414 fighter engines, are now close to closing key elements of the program.
