GBA disconnects electricity to a commercial building in Domlur

Chief Commissioner of Greater Bengaluru (GBA) M. Maheshwar Rao on Tuesday directed Central City Corporation officials to issue a notice to an under-construction building near Domlur for not relaxing the mandatory setback. It also directed the officials to initiate removal action after serving the notice.

The commissioner inspected various sites under the Bengaluru Central City Corporation during which he found that the building was constructed after demolishing the old structure without leaving obstructions on all four sides.

He also noticed a commercial building built without obstruction at the same place and ordered the officials to disconnect its electrical connection immediately.

Sales zone

Mr. Rao also directed the officials to look into the possibility of building a vending zone or parking facility on the wide path along the Domlur main road. He directed the officials to remove the walls obstructing the movement of pedestrians and create a clear path for pedestrians.

He also directed the officials to take up the development of Domlur junction and carry out road repairs properly. Officials have been directed to tarmac Saibaba Temple Road.

The commissioner also noted that roads in the Domlur area have not been restored despite the completion of sanitation works by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB). He directed the officials to immediately start repairing and restoring the roads.

CCTV cameras

During his visit to Kodihalli Primary Health Center, Mr. Rao directed officials to set aside a separate area for biomedical waste and install CCTV cameras for the security of the facility. Health workers have also been instructed to ensure the supply of necessary medicines to the centre.

Wind tunnel underpass

Mr. Rao directed officials to speed up work on the wind tunnel underpass, which he said was 80% complete. With only box pushing work remaining, he directed the officials to complete the pending work as soon as possible and complete the underpass by the end of November.
