The mourned father in Gaza spoke after his young son was killed in an Israeli air strike while trying to load water in the middle of a serious lack in the war region.
Mahmúd Abdul Rahman Ahmed said that his son Abdullah took several Jerrycans on Sunday morning and headed to the point of water distribution in the Urban Nuseirat refugee camp in the central gaza- something he regularly did.
“This area was full of displaced families, people broken by war and siege. BBC.
“Just as children and other thirsty residents gathered, Warplanes bombed the area without warning.”
Struck at the water queue
Graphic video verified by the BBC showed the chaotic consequences of the strike in the new area of Tábor Nuseirat. Shots of captured destroyed buildings, women screaming for help and yellow jerrycans scattered after debris. Several bodies, including children, have been seen that they lie still.
According to Al-Awda, the attack killed 10 people, including six children, and injured at least 16 others. Among the young victims were Badr Al-Din Qaraman, Siraj Khaled Ibrahim, Ibrahim Ashraf Abuyban, Karam Ashraf al-Ghussein, Lana Ashraf al-Ghussein and Abdullah.
Israel admits a mistake, accuses a disorder
The Israeli army acknowledged that it focused on a member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, but said that the technical error caused the ammunition to miss the intended goal of several meters. He expressed regret over civilian victims and said the incident was reviewed.
But Abdulla’s father believes that the strike was part of a larger report.
“Israel wants to show that it will not even allow people to drink the water desperately looking for,” he said, adding that his son’s dreams would be fulfilled now.
The water crisis deepens in Gaza
The UN warned that Gaza faced “human drought” due to lack of fuel, damaged infrastructure and continued conflict. Many people receive less than 15 liters of water daily – deep below emergency standards.
“You see children waiting for queues with yellow Jerrycans every day and are waiting for trucks that bring only 5 or 10 liters of water,” said Sam Rose, reigning UN Gaza Director for Palestinian refugees (Unrwa).
“This death is a symbol of a greater tragedy. But unfortunately it is one of many,” he added. Just a few days earlier, 10 children and three women were killed while waiting for food supplements at the clinic in the nearby Deir Al-Balah.
Global crying requires responsibility
UNICEF chief Catherine Russell described the incidents as “terrible” and urged Israel to urgently review his involvement rules and follow international humanitarian law. The UN Security Council is expected to meet at the end of this week to discuss the situation of children in Gaza.
The Israeli representative of the UN, however, argued that guilt was lying on Hamas and blaming a militant group of using civilians as human shields.
Abdulla’s father had a sharp message for the world: “We are civilians. We have no weapons, no power. All we want is to stop this war and stop this massacre.”
