US President Donald Trump accused the Palestinian militant group of Hamas of the collapse of Gaza Gaza. He said on Friday, “It was too bad. Hamas really didn’t want to agree … I think (Hamas) want to die and it’s very, very bad.”
In a statement before leaving for a weekend trip to Scotland Trump said, “It must be to the point where you have to finish the job.”
“They will have to fight and have to clean it. You’ll have to get rid of it,” he said, acknowledging that the situation was “disappointing”.
The US President claimed that the Palestinian militant group was not ready to pass on the remaining prisoners in Gaza because “they know what happens after you get the last hostage”.
“Basically, they really didn’t want an agreement. So they pulled out (out of negotiations),” Trump said.
Trump’s statement came after the US and Israeli negotiators left indirect conversations with Hamas in Qatar and quoted that Hamas was not “coordinated” or “acted in good faith”.
Steve Witkoff, Trump’s envoy in the Middle East, then said he was examining “alternative options” to ensure the hostage.
Trump’s comments on Friday meant a clear shift from just weeks when Trump seemed to be close to the conflict, released the remaining hostages and allowed humanitarian aid to Gaza, CNN noted.
When Trump asked about his recent interactions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he said they were “a little disappointing”. He added, “They will have to fight and will have to clean it. You will have to get rid of them.”
The Gaza Gaza company “not at all” collapsed
While Trump blame Hamas guilt, officials in Egypt and Qatar described the current pause in interviews as “normal in connection with these complex behavior”. The Israeli official also said that the conversations did not happen at all.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel now Mullang “alternative” possibilities to achieve its goals to bring hostages from Gaza and end Hamas’ government in the enclave where starvation spreads and most of the population is homeless in the middle of widespread.
