India has completed the victory of 2-0 test series over Western India at the ARUN Jaitley stadium on Delhi, but head coach Gautam Gambhir expressed dissatisfaction with the conditions of the playground. Gambhir criticized the lack of support for Indian Pace’s pitch and called for more competitive goals to help maintain the attraction of the test cricket in India.
In both shifts in Delhi, the Indian pace of attack was strongly tested, while Jasprit Bumrah Bowling 31.5 overs and Mohammed Siraj brought 24 crossings. Unlike previous matches, where Western India fought in the footsteps of friendly, this time they showed more resistance to Indian speeds. Pitch Delhi offered a small movement of reflection or seams, which makes Pacers difficult to batsmen.
Gambhir emphasized the need for better conditions for fast pitching at a press conference after the match.
“I thought we could have a better goal here.” He acknowledged the importance of spinners, but he stressed that if the team had quality Pacers like Bumrah and Siraj, they should have opportunities to impact. “Yes, we got the result on a fifth day, but again I think the names must bear. I think there must be something for fast pitchors,” he added.
The match in Delhi contrasted sharply with the previous test in Ahmedabad, where west India batting quickly collapsed in both shifts, each rejected inside 50 exceeding. In Delhi, however, visitors adapted their game plan and extended the match deep to the last day on the surface offered by the pitch.
Gambhirus’s concern exceeds immediate repairs and affects the long -term future of the test cricket in India.
“I know we’re still talking about how an important role is played, but when you probably have two quality fast pitchors in your ranks, you still want them to be in the game. In the future we can get better goals in the test cricket because we all have responsibility to keep the test cricket alive.
Given that India is preparing for the upcoming series of domestic tests against South Africa, from November this November, the conditions of the playground will remain under control. Gambhir’s notes have triggered discussions about creating reasons that offer a balanced competition for all types of players essential for the vitality of the longest format.
