Minister Maharashtra Nitesh Rane supported Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and asked the organizers of Garba to check the identity of the participants and say that such events during the Navratri became the center of “love jihad”. Minister BJP also claimed that Muslims were entering Garba events under false identities and “harassed our women”.
When he talked to reporters, Nitesh Rane said that if Islam did not follow idols, he sees no reason why Muslims participate in Garba.
Nitesh Rane said, “According to my information, Islam does not follow the worship of idols. With the exception of the love of jihad, I do not see any other reason for the Muslims participating in Garba. They come under false identity and annoy our women.”
“Cases of the love of jihad start from there,” he said.
Minister Mahashtra also said that he would also ask the Garba organizers to prepare the “conversion procedure” for those who still participate in these events.
Nitesh Rane also claimed: “Garba events are becoming epicenter of love of jihad. The demand of VHP is justified. If someone still comes to Garby, transfer it as ready (participation in such events) to become Hindu.
