Narnoor police on Saturday seized 24 ganja (hemp) plants from a person’s agricultural land in Malepur village of Adilabad district. The seized ganja plants, nearly four feet tall, are estimated to be worth around ₹ 2.40 crore. Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided the agricultural land of 44-year-old M. Balaji in Malepur on Saturday afternoon. Police discovered ganja plants secretly grown among jowar (sorghum) crops, police said. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against Balaji at Narnoor police station and further investigation is underway.
