Six drug peddlers were arrested in various raids conducted in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Warangal by the Elite Action Group on Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) in coordination with the police department. The police seized a total of 330 grams of ganja, 43 grams of cocaine, and 11.5 grams of MDMA, along with one car, one motorcycle, and five mobile phones from the accused.
In the first case, the Warangal Narcotics Police EAGLE along with the Warangal Police arrested two persons identified as Reddaboina Karthik, 25, a welder, and Reddaboina Rajesh, 18, a farmer, both residents of Rangapur in Huzurabad. The police seized 50 grams of ganja, two mobile phones and one motorcycle from them. During interrogation, Karthik revealed that he was getting ganja from one Md. Fardeena of Hanamkonda. Acting on this information, the police conducted a search at Reddy Colony in Hanamkonda and arrested Md. Fardeen, 21, a marketing manager of a car kit, who seized 30 grams of ganja and one mobile phone. Karthik and Rajesh were handed over to Huzurabad police while Md. Fardeen was handed over to the Hanamkonda police for further legal proceedings.
In the second case, Cyberabad Narcotics Police Station EAGLE, in coordination with the Miyapur Police, arrested Dudukuri Akhila at Sai Anurag Colony, Miyapur and seized 250 grams of ganja from him. During interrogation, the accused said that he had procured the drug from Ganesh, a resident of Siler in Andhra Pradesh. Police said efforts are on to nab Ganesh, who is suspected to be part of an inter-state ganja smuggling network operating in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Akhil was handed over to the Miyapur Station House Officer (SHO) along with the seized contraband.
In a third case, the State Task Force EAGLE along with the Masab Tank Police arrested Nitin Singhaniya (35), a realtor from Saleem Nagar Colony in Malakpet, and Shranik Singhvi (36), a businessman from Akberbagh in Malakpet, on Friday (December 19). The police seized 43 grams of cocaine, 11.5 grams of MDMA, one car and two mobile phones from them. Both the accused are natives of Nagaur district in Rajasthan.
According to the police, the accused established contacts with an African national during a visit to Mumbai in April 2024 and subsequently procured cocaine and MDMA through African couriers. The drugs were delivered to remote locations in Hyderabad for cash payments, with some of the contraband allegedly used for personal consumption and the rest supplied to a limited circle of associates.
