“A criminal who carried a reward of 1,000,000 GBP was shot at a meeting with the police in the Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh,” officials said on Tuesday (May 20, 2025).
“Sona Pasi aka Bhure was sought in 53 cases of murder, dacoity, robbery and other serious crimes. The police station, which is in charge of changing fire, was closely escaped,” they said.
Vineet Police Gonda (SP) Jaiswal said: “Police Umri Begumganj received a night team of special operational group (SOG) and KDhodare’s common operation to detain him”.
According to the SP, the police captured Pasi near Sonoule Mohammadpur Bandha. When they tried to stop him, he started fire on the police team. During retaliation he was injured and transported to the Medical College district, where the doctors declared him dead.
Police confiscated an illegal pistol of 32 drilling, a weapon made in the ground 315 and cassettes from the deceased. One of the bullets of the fired passport hit the bulletproof jacket of the officer, but escaped the unharmed.
Last month, during the incident of the theft in Umri Begumganj, PASI reportedly shot a village who tried to resist. He has been on the run since then. Due to the seriousness of the case were three police teams and Sog-surveillance Unit to watch it.
Previously, three of his collaborators – Brijesh alias Chhotu Pasi, Pasi and Nanmunna Lodhi – were injured and arrested during police meetings.
Mr. Jaiswal confirmed that PASI was searched in 53 cases, including cases filed under the Weapons Act, the NDP Act and Gangster laws, across Gonda, Basti and neighboring districts.
The reward of 1,000,000 GBP was announced for its captivity by the next CEO (ADG), Gorakhpur Zone.
