The Minister of the Union and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) West Bengal Unnit President Sukant Majumdar on Friday (June 27, 2025) claimed that the alleged rape of gangs at the legal school in Calcutta shows that students in the state in the state “are not safe”.
“The incident occurs after Mursing’s rape of a doctor in RG Kar Medical College and a hospital, an incident that has triggered protests throughout the country,” he said.
Mr. Majumdar, the State Minister of Trade Union for Education, claimed that the situation and order in West Bengal is “in debris”, although the main Minister Mamata Baerjee takes care of the police department (home).
“After last year he hit the doctor and hospital of the RG Faculty of Medicine and the hospital last year there was an alleged incident rape in Calcutta last year, and only shows that” students are not safe in educational institutions, “BJP said.
“After the rape of the doctor at the Supreme Medical Faculty, such as RG Kar Hospital, the incident of rape gangs at a law school in the city has now appeared,” he said.
Mr. Majumdar also referred to the killing of a girl in an explosion of the bomb recently during the winning Assembly of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), which were announced before the results of the Kaliganj assembly were announced.
The condemnation of the alleged rape of the student at the legal school in Calcutta, the leader of the opposition in West Bengal, the Assembly of the ADHIKARI, said that a huge protest would be organized in connection with crime.
“Major Minister Mamata Baerjee has no right to stay on her chair. She should resign,” he said. Mr. Adhikari claimed that the leaders of the police officers in Calcutta were in Digha, where the main minister participates in Rath Yatra from the newly inaugurated Jagannath temple.
The leader of the TMC Jaiprakash Majumdar, who urged the opposition leader to control his loud criticism, said, “Instead of politicizing this problem, it should be prevented by constructive approach to stopping such crimes.”
