Gandhi Shilp Bazaar, a ten-day handicraft exhibition and sale, will begin on March 6 at JSS Mysore Urban Haat in Mysuru. It will last until March 15.
Sponsored by the Development Authority (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, the State Level Gandhi Shilp Bazaar will feature 70 stalls bringing together skilled artisans and weavers from various states of India.
“The JSS Mysore Urban Haat has successfully organized 151 exhibitions so far and this is its 152nd year continuing its tradition of promoting Indian handicrafts and handlooms,” a statement said here.
Products on display
Artisans from across the country will showcase and sell a wide range of authentic handicrafts and handwoven products, including wooden carvings and stone sculptures, bronze idols and traditional wood inlay art, terracotta ceramics and paper products, carpets and cotton jamakhans, among others.

Items from various states include Maheshwari and Chanderi sarees from Madhya Pradesh, Madhubani paintings from Bihar, Pattachitra art from Odisha, bamboo and cane products from Assam, dry flower crafts and chikankari embroidery from Uttar Pradesh, phulkari textiles from Punjab and West katha sarees.
All products will be available directly from artisans to customers, ensuring authentic quality at affordable prices, without any middlemen, the statement said.
Artisans participating in the exhibition are provided with free stalls along with travel and daily allowance supported by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
The exhibition and sale at Gandhi Shilp Bazaar will remain open to the public from 10:30 am to 9:00 pm Entry is free for all.
