At least ten people were killed along the part of the Gambhira bridge near Mujpur in Padra Taluk from the district of Vadodar Gujarat on Wednesday (July 9, 2025) in the morning.
Five to six vehicles collapsed on the Gambhira Bridge, which is connected on a river that connects central Gujarat and Saurashtra – including two trucks and two vans – Gujarat’s Minister of Health said six of them were on the river.

He said the bridge was built in 1985 and its maintenance was regularly performed as needed. “The exact reason for the incident will be probed,” the minister said.
Six people saved
The rescue teams have managed to pull out six people alive, while the search operations continue for those who are missing. Teams from the Vadodar Fire Brigade and the locals joined the rescue operation, which was still on, the official said. The team of the national strength to disasters (NDRF) also went to the place of the incident with rescue equipment, the official said.

Deep sad: PM modi
“Loss of lives due to the collapse of the bridge in the district of Vadodar, Gujarat, is deeply sad. Condolence to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured soon recover,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said “Ex-Gratia 2 Lakh of PMNRF would be given another of each of each of each.

The main minister announced that the state government will provide additional assistance in Gratia of 4 lakh for other relatives of each deceased. In addition, each injured person will be given 50,000 GBP and the state government will bear the costs of all necessary medical treatment.
The Chief Minister also said: “He also asked about the treatment agreements and expressed concerns for injuries. The Prime Minister was looking for details concerning rescue and auxiliary operations performed by the state government.”
Probe ordered
The CM Bhupendra also ordered the technical experts to address the space and make a probe until the collapse.
