Former Minister and Head of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI (M)) The leader G. Sudhan criticized the police for registering the case against him, after his statement that the postal ballots were manipulated in favor of the CPI (M) in the election district of 1989 Lok Sabha.
On Sunday with Mediaperons, Mr. Sudhan said his statement statement was a “tactic of speech”. “I said negative things that would create a positive effect. There was no postal voting manipulation. Where is the evidence of manipulating postal votes? The head of the District Police and the District Collector should be asked, why was the case against me,” said Mr. Sudhan. “
He said that Kemal Pasha’s High Court judge believed that the submission of the case was wrong against him. “I have already withdrawn my initial statement and clarified it. Even CPI candidate (M) in surveys against 1989 said that such an incident did not occur. What other evidence will the police now choose?” Sudhan said.
“Let the Police explain”
The leader of CPI (m) said he would not look for a predictive bail. “I didn’t do anything wrong. I’m waiting to see if the police come to arrest me. Let the police explain in court what I committed.
In the apparent reference to the remarks of the Minister of Rybolov Saji Cherian to the Constitution in 2022, Mr. Sudhan asked what legal steps were taken against a person who questioned the entire legal system of the country.
Mr. Sudhan made controversial notes on May 14. Two days later he withdrew his statement and said there was no such incident of the postal vote. However, the ALAPPUZHA South police registered the case according to the direction of the Election Commission.
It was booked according to sections 465 (counterfeiting), 468 (counterfeiting for cheating) and 471 (using as a true counterfeit document or electronic record) of the Indian Criminal Code and sections 135 (removal of voting paper from election) tickets) (maintenance of the ballot paper) (maintenance of the ballot paper) and 128 (maintenance of the ballot paper) (maintenance of ballot papers) and 128 (maintenance of voting papers).
