Despite the recent war of words and outbursts against some party leaders, former minister and veteran CPI(M) leader G. Sudhakaran attended the commemoration of the Punnapra-Vayalar uprising.
On Monday morning, Mr. Sudhakaran handed over the torch which was taken to Vayalar on the 79th anniversary of the uprising at Valiya Chudukkad near Alappuzha.
Earlier this month, Mr. Sudhakaran said there was no problem with the party and that he continued to remain a member of the CPI(M). He said he had some remarks about Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian because the latter had made an “un-Marxist” statement against him through the press.
Mr. Sudhakaran also received an invitation to inaugurate the Naluchira Bridge over the Karuvatta Leading Channel on Monday. After a few years, he was reportedly invited to a government post. However, he did not participate in the program.
