
Senior IPS officer G. Lakshman has been promoted to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and has taken charge as Managing Director of Kerala Police Housing and Construction Corporation Ltd. (KPHCC). He officially assumed responsibility at the KPHCC headquarters on May 4, according to an official statement.
S. Syamsundar, Inspector General (IG), Intelligence, who held the additional charge of the KPHCC Executive Director, handed over the charge to Mr. Lakshman during the ceremony. On assuming office, Mr. Lakshman said his primary focus would be to streamline the operations of the corporation and ensure timely completion of housing and infrastructure projects for the police.
An IPS officer in 1997, he held several key posts including IG, Training. He also played a key role in the recent Kerala Assembly elections as State Nodal Officer (Training). Under his leadership, comprehensive election training was provided to police personnel at all levels across the state. He was also involved in the development and distribution of the ‘Electoral Manual’, a vital resource which ensured that the force was well equipped for electoral duties.
