Lionela Messi’s Night ended almost as soon as it started, and it wasn’t nice. Maestro, Argentine, cut off the daunting figure when he left the field frustrated on Sunday 3rd August during the Chase stadium, and while Miami continued calm, the mood for fans who watched their star hobbles.
The drama developed in the eighth minute when Messi walked down near the touch line. He seemed to have been overthrown while trying to push forward into the necaxa box, and although he tried to shake him after treatment, the discomfort persisted. In the end, he had to be taken for Federico Redondo – he marked a rare and frustrating departure for Miami’s Talisman.
And if it wasn’t enough drama, 38 -year -old, clearly angry, killed his fist in the lawn before he left. It is not a kind of departure you would expect from a man who danced through defense throughout the season.
While full diagnosis is still waiting, early features point to a possible true hamstring strain. Coach Javier Mascherano offered a quiet update after the match and said Messi felt some discomfort, but was not in significant pain. Yet, with a key group game against Pumas Unam, which appears on 6 August, is real interest.
Although he lost the captain soon and played most of the match, men down – after he saw Red Red in the 17th minute, he managed to hold. The match ended 2-2 in regulation and in a tense punishment they shot Necaxa 5-4. Necaxa also ended with 10 men after Cristian Caldern was sent in the 71 minute.
Until now, Messi’s 2025 season has moved smoothly. With 24 goals and 10 assists in 31 matches across competitions – including 18 league goals – was the driving force in Rise Miami. His injury comes as an intestinal blow, both for the team and for his fans.
When Messi heads for scanning and other rating, Miami will hope that their star will not stay outside the playground for a long time.
