Prime Minister Narendra Modi is ready to travel to China at the invitation of President XI from August 31 to September 1 to attend the SCO summit in Tianjin.
In addition to the Prime Minister Modi, the summit in China is attended by the leaders of the Member Nations of the SCO, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.
The PM Modi, who has already embarked on his two -day visit to Japan at the 15th Summit in India and Japan, will head to China from Japan to the SCO summit.
SCO Summit: Who all participates?
The Chinese Foreign Minister’s assistant Liu Bin said that more than 20 foreign leaders and heads of 10 international organizations will participate in the SCO summit.

What is the SCO summit?
The organization for cooperation in Shanghai (SCO) includes 10 members except India and China – Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
As part of the visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet Xi Jinping 31 August.
In a statement shared on Thursday, PM Modi said he was looking forward to meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I am also looking forward to meeting President Xi Jinping, President Putin and other leaders on the edge of the summit,” PTI said, referring to PM Modi.
China welcomes the visit of PM modi
At the beginning of this month, China welcomed a visit to PM Modi in the nation. Foreign Ministry spokesman GUO Jiakun said in the interaction with the press that China welcomes Prime Minister Modi at the summit scco tianjin.
“We believe that with the common efforts of all parties, the summit Tianjin will be the gathering of solidarity, friendship and fertile results, and SCO will enter a new phase of quality development representing greater solidarity, coordination, dynamics and productivity,” he said.
