
Indian Opener Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the test cricket 7th May on Wednesday after a disastrous team trip in the test series 5 matches in Australia. Rohit, who previously stressed that he would not leave the format, called Time 4 months later, before the test series against England.
Trophy Border-Gavascar, specifically Australia, has the history of the career of the best Indian stars. Bar of recent success in the 2018/19 and 2020/21 series, Australia was a very difficult tour for India. In the 2024/25 series, India was hammered with 3-1 Australia after winning the first match.

Ravicandran claimed that his son was humiliated, suggesting that he could be one of the reasons for Ashwin’s sudden departure from the international cricket.

Rohit Sharma fell into the final test match in Australia and called him a selfless decision on his part. Rohit stressed in an interview with the transmitter that the decision was his and that he did not intend to leave the format.
A few months and one champions later Rohit called his time from the test cricket just before India launched a new World Test Championship.
