US Secretary of Defense Pete HegSeth on Thursday, June 26, defended recent American strikes in Iranian nuclear places and described them as “historically successful” and rejected Intel leakage that downplayed their impact. In the heated briefing of the Pentagon, he also criticized the media for focusing on scandal, leaks and gender identity and insisted that the Americans “do not care” whether pilots are men or women.
Intel’s message is questioned
HegSeth pushed back against the leakage of intelligence assessment, which allegedly downplayed the impact of the operation.
“Destroyed, defeated, smoothed – select your word”
At the Pentagon HegSeth conference, he rejected early analysis, indicating that strikes can only delay Iranian nuclear progress by only a few months. “Destroyed, defeated, smoothed – choose your word,” HegSeth said. “It was a historically successful attack.”
Trump will double
President Donald Trump previously insisted that the strikes were “devastating”, adding that doubt about their success is “not only slightly”, but “doing pilots who have dropped the bombs very upset”.
Media on the cross
Briefing began Hegsethe, who blasted reporters for what he described as their obsession with a scandal. “You are still hunting scandals,” he said, accusing the printing of ignoring “historical moments”, such as the stronger US military and increased expenditure on European defense.
He reset to media coverage of the report on the news report and accused journalists of rooting for failure. “You, the press corps, cheer so hard on Trump,” HegSeth said. “It’s like in your DNA. You have to cheer on the effectiveness of these strikes.”

HegSeth faced repeated questions about whether Iran managed to move the enriched uranium from the Fordow nuclear device before the strike.
Satellite images taken before the bombing have shown that trucks will stand outside the web.
Hegset, pushed to see if the enriched uranium was moved, he replied, “There is nothing I have seen that what we did not hit was not exactly what we wanted to intervene.”
When another reporter followed and asked again about the possibility of moving uranium, it insisted, “Of course we watch each individual aspect.”
The third question on the same topic has led HegSeth to say, “I don’t know about any intelligence I checked and says things are not where they should move or otherwise.”
HegSeth shrugs from criticism of gender recognition
HegSeth rejected concerns about sex recognition in the army after questioning the lack of confirmation for a female pilot, who participated in recent American air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
During the tense exchange in the Pentagon, the reporter HegSeth attacked his initial strengthening messages that only “boys” appreciated, despite the confirmation that the pilot was part of the mission.

HegSeth brushed criticism and described “boys and bombers” as a “common phrase”.
“I will say such things, whether they are men or women,” he said. “I’m a female pilot, just like I am on those men’s pilots, very proud.”
“We’re not playing your little games”
HegSeth went further and accused the media of fixing the policy of identity rather than military successes.
“I don’t care if it’s a man or a woman in this cockpit. And the Americans don’t care,” he said. “It’s an obsession with race and sex. We don’t do it anymore. We don’t play your little games.”
