Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the world now sees India as a reliable partner and a land of opportunity.
He made the comments while speaking at the NDTV World Summit in New Delhi.
Here’s a look at the Prime Minister’s comments from the event:
Modi on Indian economy
“Today, India has moved from the fragile five to one of the world’s top five economies…from chips to ships, India is self-reliant and full of confidence in all areas,” he said, pointing out that inflation has remained below 2 percent while growth has soared to over 7 percent.
“When the wars made global headlines, India proved the naysayers wrong by continuing to forge ahead as the fastest growing economy,” Modi added.
He also took a jab at the UPA government, which was in power from 2004 to 2014, saying, “Earlier governments did reforms out of compulsion, now we are doing it with conviction.
He also said that nationalization of banks under Congress also led to huge non-performing assets of banks.

Hailing the status of the country’s financial institutions under his rule, the Prime Minister said the “democratization” of financial and other institutions was a key driver of an “unstoppable India”.
Modi on Pahalgam/Operation Sindoor
Modi also spoke about India’s response to Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack in the form of Operation Sindoor.
“India is already silent after the terror attacks but is giving a befitting response through airstrikes, surgical strikes and Operation Sindoor,” he said.
Modi is out of Natural
The prime minister also pointed out how his government has been able to curb the Naxalite movement, saying, “Our consistent efforts since 2014 have ensured that the number of terror-hit Maoist constituencies has come down from 125 to just 11.”
“The day is not far when India will be completely free from Naxalism and Maoist violence, that too is Modi’s guarantee. In last 75 hours, 303 Naxals surrendered; huge stock of ammunition seized from those who used to flaunt their .303 rifles,” Modi said at the event.
Modi on the spirit of Indians
Asserting that India is in “no mood to stop”, the Prime Minister said as the world today faces various roadblocks and speed breakers, it is only natural to talk about an unstoppable India.
“We will not stop or slow down. 140 million Indians will move forward together with full momentum,” Modi said.
Modi on e-Sanjeevani
Modi also lauded the e-Sanjeevani scheme, the ‘National Telemedicine Service of India’, saying that “e-Sanjeevani, an authorized service based on high-speed connectivity, connects patients with doctors through an app on their phones… So far, 42 million people have received OPD consultations through e-Sanjeevani… More have been helped from morning to evening today than from morning to evening e-Sanjeevani…”
“e-Sanjeevani is not just a convenience. It is a guarantee that people get immediate help in times of crisis. This is an example of what democratization means in the system. A sensitive government, committed to democracy and committed to the constitution, takes decisions and adopts policies like this…” the Prime Minister also said.
