Pulikkali is not just about painted “tigers”. It is also about dazzling tables that transform Thrissurova Street at the Miracles phase. From the fantasy inspired to socially charged themes, every spectacle drew the waves of applause and left the crowd Awestruck.
Each of the nine groups that participated in this year’s Pulikkal showed every float.
The digital float inspired by James Cameron’s avatar amazed the audience with his visual guide. Another innovative creation was the shining “Puli-Meen” (Tiger-Fish), designed by the artist Davinci Suresh, who shimmer under the night lights.
The battle between the bull and the white horse electrified the audience, while the table called “Justice protects against injustice” offered a sharp commentary on the current keraly and emphasized problems such as cases of sexual abuse, alcoholism and drug abuse.
Environment topics also got to the center. One float celebrated the second place of Thrissur City Corporation in Vrathi 2025, Clean Kerala Conclave, while the other, presented by Harith Karma hay, urged citizens not to throw away waste in public spaces, reminding all those bins to endanger living beings.
Municipal harmony
Tableaux with Mahatma Gandhi, sports cars and wheels carrying “tigers” and a cold display of adhesion to society also applause. Float representing temples, churches and mosques under one symbolic roof excelled as a proud reminder of the timeless tradition of Thrissur’s timeless communal harmony.
Pulikkali 2025 again proved that this folk art is not only riots of colors and rhythms, but also a mirror of Keral’s cultural pulse and mixed the magnificence with fabric.
