Friends, collaborators of long -term work and the family met on Thursday at the Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) to pay tribute to architect Tara Murali, who recently died. It was Tara who designed a beautiful campus ACJ in Taramani.
N. RAM, Director, Hinde Group (Thg) Publishing Private Limited and ACJ manager, said Tara was a very special person, thoroughly secular and modern. “Always enthusiastic about social justice, hate to exploit. Sometimes she would talk about how to treat domestic workers,” he said. She fought to rescue the DGP office, the building of heritage and translated the book to Veerapandiya Kattabomman by Ma.po.si., added.
ACJ Sashi Kumar, chairman of ACJ Sashi Kumar, said that the campus is a testimony to what it was for and did not like the air conditioning. She loved ACJ Canteen Suns, and there were times when she would get something to take something, remembered.
Amistian Ramani Ramakrishnan, who spoke from Toronto, shared his experience with working on ACJ Auditorium with her. “Tara was one of the most amazing architects I worked with. We had huge mutual respect for me. During the 2018 inauguration concert, she refused to get to the stage. Then I understood that she wasn’t interested in name or fame,” he said.
Architect Kalpana Balaja said that Tara was there to climb her in the right direction, even though she didn’t know she needed it. “It was the one who formed my love for the city. When I decided to work with my husband, we grew up with her generosity,” she added. Structural engineer Nagesh, said Tara was careful and provided quality time for any project. She was a very modest lady, he added.
Radhika Menon, a long -term girlfriend of Tara Murali, said she knew that Tara before the position of ACJ. “We went to her because we wanted environmental materials in the house we built in Uthandi.
Tarin’s son Krishna Murali and the husband of N. Murali, director, Hindu group of publications and President of the Music Academy, accepted condolences.
