
SpiceJet is operating 14 special flights today, March 6, to help stranded passengers return home as soon as possible. Amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and reduced air travel, the airline is providing additional capacity to help stranded Indian nationals by operating 13 flights from Fujairah and one from Dubai.
SpiceJet operates nine special flights from Fujairah to Mumbai, four special flights from Fujairah to Delhi and one special flight from Dubai to Pune as per the schedule.
In a post on X, SpiceJet said the airline “continues to operate several special flights from the UAE to India to support passenger travel during this time. Additional flights have been scheduled to ensure smoother connectivity.”
SpiceJet has operated 25 special flights from the UAE over the past three days to allow passengers stranded in the Middle Eastern country to return to Delhi, Mumbai and Kochi. These additional flights come at a time when Indians are waiting for the return of passengers stranded in the UAE.
SpiceJet has released a list of 8 additional flights scheduled for March 8 connecting Fujairah with Delhi and Mumbai.
IndiGo offers free cancellation of flights affected by conflict in the Middle East
IndiGo announced on Friday that the airline has decided to extend free cancellation waivers for flights to and from the Middle East and Istanbul due to the volatile situation in the region. IndiGo urged passengers to monitor their flight status in ‘ as it informed passengers that the full exemption period has been extended to March 31, 2026 for the affected flights.
In a post on X, IndiGo said, “As the situation in the Middle East remains volatile, IndiGo is extending the free cancellation exemptions till 31 March 2026” in view of the volatile situation in the region.
The statement added: “Exemptions – The full cancellation exemption is extended for travel to and from the Middle East and Istanbul until 31 March 2026.” The airline has also issued a customer contact center number +91 124 6173838 to provide additional support, clarification and address passenger queries.
Air India also resumed flight operations to the Middle East after airspace restrictions over Saudi Arabia and Oman were lifted. Air India on X, said: “Airspace over Saudi Arabia and Oman remains open and assessed as safe for operations, Air India and Air India Express have resumed flights to and from Jeddah and Muscat.”
Air India Express has also resumed services between Muscat and Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Tiruchirappalli and Mumbai. Flights connecting Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai with Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikode, Bengaluru and Mumbai will resume from March 7, 2026.
