After almost four years of expectations and multiple delays, the expected yellow line of the Namma Metro from RV Road after Bommasandra will finally be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modim on Sunday (August 10, 2025). The corridor is expected to change in the technological corridor of the city 19.15 kilometers, especially for the benefit of employees working in the electronic city and help at the infamous intersection of silk plates.
PM Modi in Bengaluru Live Update – August 10, 2025
Originally assumed in a detailed report on the 2011 project (DPR) prepared by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the construction of the yellow line began in 2017. Initially it was scheduled to complete until December 2021, but the project was hit by a number of failures, including Delay.
The yellow line, which was built at the price of 7 610 Crore, adds 16 stations to the city network and expands the total operational length of the Namma metro to 96 km. The line is fully elevated and contains the first trains without a Bengalur driver, although according to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), Loco pilots for security and acquaintance will initially work. This metro line is integrated into the first double lining in the city, located between Junction Silk Board Junction and Ragigudd Metro Station.
“As soon as all trains are delivered and fully listed, the line is expected to carry over 2.5 lakes daily,” the clerk said.
The line also includes key exchanges on RV Road (Green Line), Jayadeva Hospital (pink line) and central silk plate (blue line – phase 2a and 2b). Jayadeva Interchange Station, offered as the largest and only double metro station for metro, is a four -speed structure with 12 entrances and lifts in all zones.

Serves a technological corridor
The yellow line connects the main IT cartridges including infosys, Wipro, Biocon, Tech Mahindra and Delta Electronics. The line ends in Bommasand, adjacent to the Electronics Delta, and passes through areas such as BTM, Gate, Electronic City and Hebagodi, which release travel for thousands of technological workers and reduce their own vehicles.
Officials said that only three trains without a driver are currently available, initial services will work every 25 minutes.
Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL), which has joined CRRC Nanjing, has so far supplied three trains. “The fourth train has been sent and is expected to join the fleet to the fleet by the end of August,” the clerk added.
Commuting frustration
Operations in full, where trains run at a higher frequency, are expected only until next year, when BMRCL receives all 34 train sets.
While BMRCL initially considered opening only seven stations, all 16 stations along the yellow line will be functional from the first day. For a city that is struggling to overload traffic, especially on Hosur Road and at intersections such as Silk Board and Electronic City, a new metro line offers a much needed alternative.
However, commuters are not satisfied with how the project proceeded. It is said that the opening seems symbolic and, thanks to the inadequate number of trains, offers limited benefits for daily passengers.
Naveen Kumar, Bommanhalli resident, said “One train every 25 minutes and we are celebrating it? This is a serious joke now. With such long gaps between trains and the expected crowd it will be a nightmare.”
