At least four Maoists, three of whom were killed at the ongoing meeting between security forces and Maoists in the Balaghat district in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday (June 14, 2025), the police said.
Anti-Maooists Madhya Pradesh Commander Hawk Force commander Shiyaz km told the Hindes that the meeting was taking place in the areas of Pachamdadar and Katejhiriya in the area of Sonewani forests. Mr Shiyaz said that the search operation was launched in several parts of the dense forest areas of the district based on inputs from the Maoist movement.
“The timing effort is in several areas and the meeting will continue at least until tomorrow (June 15, 2025),” he said, adding that heavy rains in this area have made the operation more demanding.
Mr. Shiyaz said that the workers belonged to the Malaysian unit of the Grb (Gondia-Orajnandgaon-Lalaghat) Division of the Maoists.
“A few days ago, we received the input of their movement, after which several pages were deployed for the search operation. During one such search, shooting started from their side and our staff replied,” the officer said.
The meeting is part of the joint operation of Madhya Pradesh Police’s Hawk Force and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), he said.

Main Minister Mohan Yadav congratulated security forces and dubbed the meeting as the main success of the campaign to end Maoism by March 2026, a date set by the Union’s government.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ji and the Minister of the Interior of the Union Amit Shah achieved a great success in the campaign for eradicating Maoism by March 2026,” he said at the X.
