
The day after Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Severage Board operated one Himayatsagar gate, three more gates were raised on Friday to leave the floods downstream.
With heavy rains recorded on Thursday, two reservoirs began to receive excess water from the evening. Himayatsagar on Thursday at 23 o’clock, for the full level of the tank 1 763.50 feet or 2.970 TMCFT, held 2.734 TMCft water or 1,762.70 feet. While the tide was about 1,000 cusec, with the raised gate was maintained 339 CUSECS outflow.
On Friday, the water slab decided to control another gate at 8:30 in the morning, from the tank, starting 6:00, moving and hovering around FTL. As the tide continued, the outflow was also doubled to 695 cusecs with two goals raised. Even at 10 o’clock the tide was 4,000 cusec, when the three gates were operated by one leg. An hour later the fourth gate was canceled. In the status available at 19:00, 1300 CUSECS water was received and 2,070 CUSEC was released. Reservoir recorded the level levels throughout the day.
On the other hand, the Osmansagar reservoir received 400 CUSECS. For FTL 1,790 feet or full capacity of 3.90 TMCFT held the tank 2.554 TMCft water.
The CEO of the K. Ashok Reddy Water Board reviewed the situation in the reservoirs and the Gates operation with higher officials. Instruction to officials instructed smooth coordination with officials in Hyderabad and Rangareddy Administrations, GHMC, Hydraa and Police.
