Four from West Bengal were holding 71 kg of ganja in Keralam

Four men from West Bengal were arrested after a joint team seized more than 71 kg of ganja from Palakkad railway station on Thursday (September 10, 2026).

The operation was carried out by the Crime Wing of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), the Palakkad RPF unit and the Excise Enforcement and Anti-Narcotics Special Unit.

The arrested men were identified as Mainul Islam, 21; Mannan Molla, 38; Tojammal SK, 36; and Noor Islam, 19, all of Murshidabad. The value of the seized ganja is estimated to be ₹35 crore.

The operation was led by RPF Inspector Girish C. and Excise Inspector Noufal. The Palakkad Special Excise and Anti-Narcotics Squad has registered a case under the NDPS Act and started investigation.

Urisa natives held

Six Odisha natives were arrested with 53.453 kg of ganja in Olavakkode on September 2 by a special police force.

Those arrested were identified as Jikhoria Digal, 22; Phurandar Khura, 34; Judhisdi Bibhar, 28; Labana Khura, 25; Anilkumar Digal, 28; and Christ Digal, 45.

Seizures were performed one week apart. Police suspect that the two gangs were part of a larger network involved in transporting cannabis to Kerala from eastern states.
