Four died in two road accidents in Kalaburagi
Four people died in two road accidents reported from different parts of Kalaburagi district on Wednesday.
In the first accident, three youths died on the spot after a KKRTC bus collided with a motorcycle on the Karadal-Chittapur road in Chittapur taluk.
The deceased have been identified as 19-year-old Devaraj Ayyappa of Bommanahalli, 24-year-old Laxmikant of Mudbool and 22-year-old Prakash of Bijjanahalli in Sedam taluk.
The three were traveling together on a motorcycle when it collided with a bus.
Police said the KKRTC bus was on its way from Chittapur towards Sannati while the motorcycle was heading towards Bijjanahalli.
Senior police officials visited the spot.
The bodies were taken to Chittapur Taluk Government Hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered at Chittapur police station.
In another accident near Nedalgi in Jewargi taluk, a woman died after a motorcycle collided with a bus.
The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Nirmala Kallappa Sindgi of Devar Nawadagi village in Sindgi taluk of Vijayapura district.
She was traveling as a sawmill rider and returning home after a wedding in Jewargi when the accident happened near Nedalgi Cross.
Several others who sustained injuries were taken to the district hospital. A case was registered at Nelogi police station.
