Aaditya Anand, founder and CEO of Multibagg AI, issued a strongly formulated criticism of OLA Electric Bhavish Aggarwal’s latest announcement, which rejected the efforts of AI infrastructure as a “patriotic accumulation of chest”.
In the terrifying post of Anand, he questioned the importance of opening source models, such as Meta’s Llama 4 on Indian servers, and claimed that this step lacks real technological innovations and instead the changing exercise is packed in nationalist rhetoric.
Aggarwal had previously shared that Kutrim, Ola’s Ai Venture, is now one of the first in the world to host the Meta 4 models on Indian servers. He also stressed that the company has already deployed several deep models with prices between £10 to £60 per million chips. The newer Llama 4 models, as he claimed, will be available for an even more disturbing degree £7 to £17 per million chips. Aggarwal placed it as a main step towards “technological independence” and “digital sovereignty”, which focused on the authorization of Indian developers and startups.
But Anand was impartial and criticized the announcement for concerning more about optics than on the substance. “After obtaining $ 280 million, he is enthusiastic about hosting an open source code? A trainee who has a good GPU computer can do it in his bedroom,” he wrote, referring to the availability of open-resort models such as Meta Lama that developers can run independently.
Furthermore, he compared Kutrim’s prices with global offers and said: “Disrupted prices? I think he did not see Gemini Flash or GPT-4O mini prices. £10 per million chips. ”
Anand also questioned the narration of the democratization of AI for Indian developers, suggesting that the community at KRUTRIM did not expect to access these instruments. “Being a fallacy is the only solution for him,” Aggarwal’s tone remarked.
The claim of digital sovereignty was done: “The only thing he did was hosting someone else’s model on his own servers and (is) pretending to give the Indian flag for the month.
